THE LOVE CHALLENGE
Jesus said, “By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another” John 13:35.
Pray for one family regularly this month. “And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.” Ephesians 6:18
Speak to one person you don’t usually speak to. “let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.” Hebrews 10:24
Encourage one person. “encourage one another, be of one mind, live in peace.” 2 Corinthians 13:11
Carry the burden of someone who is struggling - listen to their story, show pity & sympathy & pray for them. “Carry each other’s burdens...” Galatians 6:2
Visit one person: a senior, the sick, someone with special needs, a single person & if necessary “visit” by phone. “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure & faultless is this: to look after orphans & widows in their distress” James 1:26
Give one gift - share your abundance with those who lack - a book, a meal, grocery certificate etc. “Share with the Lord’s people who are in need” Romans 12:13
Forgive one person - attempt to reconcile with them & at least speak to them, express interest in them & show affection to them. “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” Ephesians 4:32
Welcome one person who visits the church. “Greet one another with a holy kiss” Romans 16:16
Share one meal with someone from the church or your work or neighborhood & focus on the fellowship not the food. “Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling” 1 Peter 4:9
Share the gospel with one person, give out a tract, invite a person to church or a church ministry event etc. “The Lord’s message rang out from you not only in Macedonia and Achaia your faith in God has become known everywhere” 1 Thess 1:8
