Missions

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations

Matthew 28:19

Jesus said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.  And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
As a church, we want to be a shining light in our community and our world.  Individuals in the congregation are involved in numerous outreach activities throughout Durham and the GTA.  In addition, the “Send Me!” Team at Ajax Alliance is in charge of keeping the congregation informed and excited about overseas missions and local ministries.  Keep an eye on this page for information about upcoming international potlucks, visiting missionaries and speakers, and other exciting events and opportunities!

Our Missionaries

This is a partial list of who we support...

Margaret Roberts

Margaret's interest in missions was awakened during her years at University. During her struggle to surrender to God's calling she entered a period of earnest prayer. God settled her fears by His promise in Deuteronomy 31:8 giving her assurance of His care. In this confidence she applied with the Faith Mission in 2013. She served under Faith Mission in Canada from 2014 to 2018 when she requested a transfer to Ireland. Her current assignment involves ministry among children and youth and evangelistic visitation in the south-east of the Republic of Ireland.

Albert, Elaine, Elise, Liana & Nathaniel Lu

The Lu’s responded to God’s call to ministry in 2005 in Toronto. Albert served for eight years at First Alliance Church in Scarborough, two years as an apprentice and six as Pastor of worship and outreach. In 2013 they were assigned to church planting ministries in Taiwan by the Alliance where they are reaching out to the least-reached working class in Baozhong Township and Chiayi County.

Pregnancy Help Centre of Durham

The Pregnancy Help Centre (PHC) of Durham is a Christian charity committed to demonstrating Gods love and mercy to individuals and families that may be in distress or need support due to pregnancy situations.  They believe that life begins at conception and is a very valuable gift.  PHC is available in times of fear or uncertainty with hope and care for families in need.  Ajax Alliance Church (AAC) has been supporting PHC financially for over fourteen years. Several of our members have served PHC over the years.  Currently three from the AAC family volunteer and one serves as a board member.

The Burnetts were first sent to Thailand by the Alliance in 1999. Both Carlin and Jesse are studying in Canada while Jemma studies at an International School in Thailand.

Bob & Cecila Brown

Though both Bob and Cecilia attended the New Tribes Mission Bible school in Waukesha, Wisconsin they didn’t really meet until they participated in a mission boot camp here in Durham region. They were married in 1975 and have been serving the Lord in Bible translation and evangelism ministries for forty years under Biblical Ministries Worldwide in Southeast Asia.

Samuel & Gloria Xie

SAMUEL AND GLORIA XIE: Pastor Samuel serves with Christian Communications Inc. of Canada (CCIC) in Scarborough. His glorious conversion to Christ happened after a tumultuous experience transitioning from China to settle in Canada. Samuel and Gloria responded to God’s call to ministry at a CCIC Discipleship Camp in 2002. Samuel’s primary ministry is equipping Mandarin speaking pastors at Toronto Baptist Seminary and several other overseas locations. Amidst all this he is busy serving as the pastor of “The Cross Gospel Church” a Mandarin speaking church plant on the AAC church campus.

JD & Andreina Fasolino

JD & Andreina Fasolino, Daniel Isaac & David Andrés:
During his senior year of BA studies in economics JD began sensing God’s call to ministry. After completing this degree he enrolled in the Evangelical Seminary of Caracas (Venezuela, where he lived at that time). He completed a degree in Pastoral Counselling while directing his family’s business and serving as Worship and Music Director in his local church managing all aspects of public services. JD and Andreina moved to Canada in 2012. In 2013 JD began the task of planting a new church for Spanish speakers in Durham Region called Emmanuel Baptist Church East under the Canadian Baptist National Convention.

Vera & Danny Kuranji

Danny & Vera were sent by the Alliance to Novi Sad, Serbia in 1986 where they have served up to the present. Their ministries include church planting, compassion ministries and humanitarian aid. They have established a drug rehab center which is one of many effective means of reaching men and women for Jesus Christ.

Francisco & Maria Ordaz, Miryam Ordaz

In 2001 Francisco and Maria responded to God’s call upon their lives to church planting  and pastoral ministries. After sixteen years of service in the Margarita Islands and Caripe El Guachara mountains of Venezuela they came to Canada to visit relatives. While here they felt God’s call to plant a new church in Durham Region.  Since April 2018 they have been serving  under the Canadian National Baptist Convention in an effort to plant a church for Spanish multicultural  people in Oshawa. They are having regular bible studies in homes and  at a facility on Sundays that began in July of this year.
